Dr Haroon recognises the importance of community work and is committed to support the development of various groups to contribute positively and constructively in Britain.
The BMHC is an international organisation working locally and impacting globally. It has over 30 activities per week catering all ages from sports activities to enhancing one’s spiritual needs.

Heritage Radio
In 2014, Dr Haroon helped BMHC to obtain a Community Radio Licence called Heritage Radio from OFCOM. The radio station has grown and evolved into a popular 24-hour broadcaster that not only tackles issues specific to the community, but also addresses issues faced by the UK population, including drugs, violence, crimes and other social and mental health issues.
Dr Haroon is in charge of the Media Committee and has been involved with the running of the Radio Station since it started broadcasting.
Radio Ramadan
In 1997, Haroon secured the first community radio licence for Radio Ramadan in Manchester. Since then, he has secured a further nine more licences and the radio station has expanded into other UK cities and regions with a significant Muslim community. Radio Ramadan is now a widely appreciated educational and faith support resource for the Muslim community in Britain.
